This is a chance project in which Alex Bergin & Nick Janeczko were tasked with trying to figure out who is a "real" Detroiter. Upon visiting three locations: Lafayette Coney Island, Good Girls Go To Paris Crepes, and Bucharest Grill, we got a small but workable scope of who eats in a variety of places downtown- commuters. So we turned the question to everybody- Who is Detroit?
We asked the question in print and digitally. The outcome is an anonymous website where anyone may share their thoughts on who they think a Detroiter is, what constitutes them as being "real", or how they're influencers. On the contrary, they may share their thoughts as to who is specifically NOT a "real" Detroiter, or how they've taken away from the city.
After running for two months, we've received 182 positive reactions to Detroit, and 117 negative.
